This book presents a comprehensive, substantive and in-depth analysis of the Organization’s new role in promoting and defending democracy in the Americas, as well as the constraints and challenges it faces in performing such a role. The book reflects my strong belief in the value of promoting representative democracy, as well as my conviction that it is indeed the best system of government for the Americas.
